Son of Banner Brock (1776-1815, killed in War of 1812) & Elizabeth Hammock
Banner was the son of Allen Brock (b. 1750 Cumberland Co., VA)
Allen was son of George Brock, III (b. 1726), son of George, Jr. (b. ca 1700), son of George Brock, Sr. (b. ca 1680)

Elder George Brock was raised by his uncle John Brock (1784-1857)

He married three times, 1st Nancy Durham, 2nd Abigail Gideons, 3rd Delilah Ann Irving

Elder George Brock's pedigree:

His obituary dated 21 Feb 1879 read, "DIED- REV. GEORGE BROCK, died at his residence on LAUREL RIVER in Laurel Co., KY, on the 18th Feb., 1879. He was a minister of the gospel of the Baptist Church. He was about 70 years of age and leaves a large Family." (He was in his 70th year, age 69 years 4 Mos. 23 days.)

John Brock, 1784-1857, stated on his remarriage in 1852 that he was born Louisa Co., VA (uncle who raised Elder George Brock)

 Elder William Brock, 1827-1911, a cousin, son of Ragan Brock, son of Capt. John Brock (1784-1857), son of Allen Brock & Lydia Reese

In her book, The Family, History, and Descendants of Elder George Washington Brock (1809-1879), Volume I (Vincinnes, IN: Vincinnes Univ. Printing, 2002), author Alice Brock Faulkner wrote , "There is much written and considerable controversy on the grand parentage of Captain John and Banner Brock. The question seems to be which, John Brock or Allen Brock, is the grandfather of John, Banner, and their siblings." It appears that the only thing in agreement is that his mother was Lydia Reece. "First Lt. John Brock b. 1750 is the father of Banner." She cites DAR application, but no other evidence.
