Mary Longley Dotson was buried in Cedar Creek Ceme., Bastrop Co., TX; she died 1 Oct 1901-4 Jan 1902, according to Texas Confederate Payment Records in the Comptroller General's Office, while living there with her son.

   

He died in home of grandson Louie Dotson (Louis A. Dotson, son of William Preston Dotson and Martha Jane Maddox) and wife Bertha Hogg; date from descendant Charles G. Maddox. Dotson family graves below:

Served in Co. B, Flournoy's Regt. , 16th Texas Infantry, Confederate Army for 3 1/2 years beginning 23 Jan 1862, as "Private and musician."

He was Confederate Pensioner No. 23417 in Taylor Co., TX
