His sister Myrl Wilks McLean wrote this letter on 27 Nov 1942 to their folks."Dale says he is much happier now than when he first went into the Navy. I hope Kirby will be the same. way ... Mama & Papa, whatever they decide about them (sic. Dale, Kirby, Voy) remember that God looks after his own children so I believe our three boys will be all right in every way. Look how lucky Dale has been, of course, he works hard and doesnt get to do as he pleases all time but he hasnt been to sea and hasnt had to fight. Thats some proof that Christian boys are looked after by our Father. |
I started working nights on Monday. Work from 4 P.M. to midnight. I dont mind working that shift when I dont have to work too long hours. It is hard for me to get in the habit of sleeping the first part of the night when I go back on days. Have you heard from Kirby any more? I havent heard from him since January 15. I am glad he was able to talk to you. Also glad papa and mama got to visit him. I got a letter from his girl a few days ago. From what she said, it looks like we are to have another sister-in-law. Anyway I am glad they didnt get married before he went overseas. |
