Millard got into a fight at the the Lincoln Co., WV polling place with a 38 year old man named Baby Face something. Millard was evidently very opinionated and very good at holding a grudge for decades. He took his cane, hit this man over the head (breaking the cane in three places) and turned, took two steps, and fell dead on 2 Nov 1952. According to his birthdate in the 1900 census, he was 26, born Dec 1873; so he died age 78, nearly 79 years old. In 1920 he was said to be 50. Millard was illiterate.
